Description
In the wee hours of the morning two women meet under the arches to chat and gossip about the events of the day. One woman is in shadow; the other illuminated. The scene is bathed in light from various sources; the shops are empty of customers but still are brightly lit. Then there is the bare light bulb which radiates a halo of yellow. This painting is an enigma; the columns are of different architectural styles, and the time of day is indeterminate. This painting conveys the mystery of Mexico.
