Sometimes it's too cold for an artist to paint on location. This little pastel depicts the dramatic colors and light effects following a blizzard that blanketed Sedona and Flagstaff, Arizona. I painted this from a photograph several days after the snowstorm, while staying in a budget motel in Tucson Arizona on the other side of the tracks. It was about 98 degrees and still I was inspired by the icy image of those dramatic Sedona peaks.
