From the balcony of the Fauzi Azar youth hostel in Nazareth I have painted the flowers cascading over the ancient walls of this mansion. As the eye goes back in space we see layers of ancient rooftops with shadows, terra cotta tiles and distant trees on the surrounding hillside.
