This painting shows the life of dogs that live outdoors in makeshift homes that include barrels filled with foam, old car seats and old rugs. They are chained up night and day and exist on the kindness of strangers. I would pass these dogs when I used to take my walks around the Rondout section of Kingston N.Y.
