Capturing the figure in watercolor is a tricky thing. I painted from the figure for many years. I tried to capture the cool beauty of this model using delicate washes of color. Some of the edges blend into the background. The features of her face are suggested rather than expressed in detail. The angle of her arm stands out in contrast to the soft gray background, establishing her presence.
